The Atomic Bomb Memorial Mound serves not only as a reminder of the A-bombing. It also stands as a family grave to thousands whose loved ones vanished on August 6th, 1945. Each year on the anniversary of the bombing, religious groups gather at the Mound for an interfaith memorial service.
